The Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits is pleased to invite current Alliance Members to attend a day of advocacy with Arizona State Legislators at the Arizona State Capitol on Wednesday, January 24, 2017.

This event is open to Alliance Members only and is limited to 70 attendees; it is expected to sell out quickly as it does each year. For this reason, we are limiting attendance to a max of two representatives from each organization. 

Attendees will have the opportunity to network and learn with other nonprofit attendees; attend advocacy related educational sessions; participate in small group meetings with legislators; enjoy lunch and remarks from legislators; sit in on a House or Senate session, and participate in a meet and greet with a local elected or administrative professional.

The nominal $15 registration fee includes:

  • Pre-Planning Webinar the week prior to Day of Advocacy
  • Continental breakfast & lunch
  • All educational sessions & meeting opportunities throughout the day
  • Small group meetings with legislators pre-planned for your convenience
  • Materials in packets for each meeting with legislators

Registered attendees will be invited to participate in a pre-planning webinar the week before at no additional cost.  The session will provide basic tips and best practices for meeting with legislators. 

 

Day of Advocacy Schedule for Wednesday, January 24, 2018:

8:30-9:00 am Registration, networking and continental breakfast Historic Supreme Court
  Room will be open all day with water and as a meeting place in between meetings.  
9:00-10:00 am Welcome & Opening Remarks Historic Senate
  Overview of the Day & Best Practices  
  Opportunity to meet with other members of your small group and discuss scheduled meetings  
10:00am Small Group Meetings with Legislators Begin (Continue through afternoon)  
10:00-11:00 am           Educational Session Historic Senate
11:30 am Lunch & Remarks from Legislators Historic Supreme Court     
1:30 pm House & Senate Floor Sessions Begin (Attendees are invited to sit in on either) House or Senate
2:00-3:00 pm Meet & Greet with Elected or Administrative Official Historic Senate

 

Registration Details

Attendees will be asked several questions during registration to help us best schedule small group meetings with legislators, educational opportunities and meet & greet opportunities.  This will help us make the day most useful and meaningful for attendees. 

In order to best match attendees with the appropriate legislators prior to the event, you'll need to provide legislative district numbers, for both your nonprofit organization and for you personally, during the registration process. For help finding those districts, visit http://azredistricting.org/districtlocator/ prior to registering.Please note: we cannot guarantee a meeting with a certain legislator or elected official.
